Sans, video, Nahr-El-Bared and Tripoli, Lebanon, 2007.

Sans is a video shot during the summer of 2007 in Tripoli and Nahr-El-Bared, sites of the confrontations between the Lebanese Army and the Fatah Al Islam Militia. The video emphasizes humoristic situations that can erupt during moments of great tension and violence. Sans consists of following a Lebanese AFP photographer working in Nahr-El-Bared throughout the duration of the events and to capture the tragic atmosphere of the bombardments. The video progressively transformed itself, in light of the long waiting periods imposed by truces, substituting the heavy and tragic ambiance for one that considers the direct environment, that is to say the ambiance of the photographers and journalists.
