The Last Supper, Installation, Thessaloniki, Greece, 2011.
The economic crisis required enormous sacrifices and resistance from the Greek population which wasn’t prepared for the situation. The Last Supper is a contemporary reinterpretation of the iconography and symbolism of the sacrifice, transferred into the figure of the artist. It is an invitation for eight guests who will never come, meanwhile the artist is lying stunned on the table, head in her plate. On the wall, photocopies of the artist’s sketchbook display notes and research she constituted during the three-week workshop.
